The weekend is just a few days away, the time to let routines change up. We claim Saturdays for ourselves, errands, family, pleasure, adventure…cleaning? So many things to occupy our day, but whatever we will choose to do, let us remember that well-worn paths make ruts over time. Although putting our keys in the same spot every time makes going out the door much easier, many habits, like eating and health habits, maybe not so much.
We can’t reach a new destination on an old path. New paths are not as comfortable, because they may be strewn with long grasses that itch our sensitive feet, or jagged rocks that prick and poke us. However, if we are diligent to weed, and dig out as we go along a new path, it will get much easier over time.
So today let’s get our shoes on and forge along the path that God has set for us. His strength can guide our feet as we look to Him for a new direction. We must remember… our comfort is not our friend, and in many ways, our comfort can even kill.
Let us march along to Words of our God, “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
